Former minister T Jeevan Reddy demanded that the Congress High Command take severe disciplinary action against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for speaking against the party's decision on Telangana issue.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here on Saturday, Jeevan Reddy said that the Chief Minister should have resigned from the post before campaigning for Samaikhyandhra. He said it was immoral on the part of Kiran Kumar Reddy to use the Rachabanda programme as a political platform to speaking against State's division. He said that the Chief Minister should have focused on completing the pending works before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, instead of making efforts to stop Telangana formation.

Jeevan Reddy said that the Telangana decision was taken by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Kiran Kumar Reddy, who became the Chief Minister due to her, should abide by her decision. He also dismissed statements with regard to the status of Hyderabad. He said that the Congress Working Committee in its resolution has already clarified that Hyderabad would be part of Telangana State although it would serve as the joint capital for a period of 10 years. Therefore, he said that the debates on the status of Hyderabad were irrelevant and unnecessary.
