Ganta's resignation not for Samaikhyandhra, alleges Kondru

Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan has alleged that the resignations submitted by ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao and Erasu Pratap Reddy to Governor ESL Narasimhan on Monday were not for the cause of Samaikhyandhra.

Talking to reporters in the Congress Legislature Party office here, Kondru alleged that both Ganta and Erasu were planning to join some other political party and therefore, they submitted their resignations from the cabinet. He said the resignations were aimed at clearing the way to join another party and not for the cause of Samaikhyandhra. He said many more leaders were planning to resign for political gains.

Kondru said that if the division of State was inevitable, then the Centre should make Visakhapatnam as the capital of new State. However, if that was not possible, then the Centre should make north coastal districts as part of Telangana State as they were extremely backward in education and employment.

The minister also slammed TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. He said that Naidu has back-stabbed his own father-in-law NTR for power and now trying to cheat the people of Seemandhra region through his bus yatra. He said both the TDP and YSRCP were trying to take credit for the Samaikhyandhra agitation being spearheaded by APNGOs and students.
