Jagan's fast is illegal: Dilip Kumar

Telangana Rashtriya Lok Dal president and MLC Dilip Kumar on Monday described the indefinite hunger fast undertaken by YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy as illegal.

Speaking to media persons here, Dilip Kumar said that as per the Rules, the inmates of any prison could not participate in political activities, including observing fasts. He said that Jagan's fast would lead to termination of his status as Special Prisoner in Chanchalguda Jail and he would lose all the relaxations extended to him by the court.

Stating that Telangana State would be a reality soon, Dilip Kumar appealed to the Congress leaders from Seemandhra region to accept their High Command's decision and withdraw agitation. He said that both the Telugu States would grow at a fast pace. He allayed fears of disputes over sharing of resources. While the Central Water Commission would resolve disputes related to river water sharing, a majority of existing employees are about to retire and the new recruitment could be done by the respective States.

Dilip Kumar sought the cooperation of Seemandhra leaders and people in the formation of Telangana State.
