Expressing regrets over the power cuts being imposed in the State, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday sought the cooperation of people in handling the situation.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Botsa said that the demand-supply position in the State was bad which necessitated the power cuts across all sectors. He requested the people to understand the situation and bear with the inconvenience for some time. He also said that instead of blaming the government, the opposition parties too should play a constructive role by extending their cooperation. He said that the government was taking all measures to tide over the crisis.

Speaking about the Dilsukhnagar twin blasts, he said that the investigations into the case were on and it was being probed from all angles. Assuring that stern action would be taken against the culprits, he said that the issue should not be politicised. He also informed that the government has spent over Rs 72 lakh for the treatment of those injured in the twin blasts. He said that the government would provide treatment to all the injured persons at free of cost.

Botsa also hailed the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday. He said that the Finance Minister has addressed all sections of the society, especially women, farmers, youth, SCs and STs. He also condemned the criticism over the union budget and said that the opposition parties were merely targeting it without understanding it fully.
