The Congress party leaders from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions feel that the Centre will not bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters at Eluru, Congress MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao said that the Centre would not be divided and that was the reason why Seemandhra ministers and leaders have been maintaining silence over the issue. Similarly, the PCC Spokesperson and Chairman of 20-Point Programme Dr T Tulasi Reddy that the talks on State's division were mere speculation.

However, Minor Irrigation Minister TG Venkatesh said that the Centre would have to talk to the leaders of the Rayalaseema region before announcing its decision on the Telangana statehood issue. Talking to reporters after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy along with two other ministers - Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy and S Sailajanath, he said that the Chief Minister has been asked to prevail upon the Centre not to make a hasty announcement on the statehood issue.
