Hyderabad, Oct 30: The resignation of Minister for Women’s Welfare Mrs Konda Surekha from the Rosaiah Cabinet would not affect the chances of Congress party in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (Ghmc) elections, stated former Pradesh Congress Committee president and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao.Talking to media persons on Friday,after having a discussion with the Chief Minister K Rosaiah and Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas,he said that the Minister’s resignation would not dent the Congress votes in the Ghmc elections.He refused to make comments on the Minister’s resignation.

 He said “it is her personal decision and the Chief Minister will take a final decision on it.”He said they discussed the strategy to be adopted for the Ghmc elections. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would win majority number of seats in the elections. He hoped that the mayor candidate would be elected from the Congress party.He called upon all Congress workers to work with dedication and winning strategy to brighten the chances of party in the elections.He said the Congress party would also consider alliances with other likely-minded parties in the Ghmc elections.
