Echoing the views of his cabinet colleague Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi on Tuesday said that no deadline could be set to resolve the Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters here, Vayalar Ravi, who is also PCC Observor, said that Telangana was among several other problems seeking redressal by the Centre. Therefore, the statehood demand alone could be given priority, he said. However, he claimed that the Centre has continued talks with the stakeholders to resolve the issue at the earliest.
Vayalar Ravi said that the Centre was keen to resolve the Telangana issue and for the same reason it held talks with several leaders including Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao. However, he said it was difficult for the Centre to set a deadline as the issue involved several stakeholders.
