The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Thursday accused a section of media of trying to sabotage the Telangana agitation by distorting the statements of Trs leaders.

Talking to reporters at Telangana Bhavan, Trs former MP and polit-bureau member B Vinod Kumar cited some instances wherein a section of media misquoted Trs president K Chandrasekhara Rao. He said KCR has never stated that he had discussed the Telangana issue with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde during his month-long stay in New Delhi. He said when Shinde was asked about the issue, he clarified that he did not discuss the issue with KCR. However, he said a section of media has used Shinde's statement to target KCR.

Asking the people not to fall pray to the false propaganda being carried out by a section of media, Vinod Kumar advised the media to be fair in reporting statements of Trs leaders.

The Trs leader also demanded that all political parties spell out their clear stand on the Telangana issue. He said the Centre would be able to take immediate decision on Telangana if all parties clarify their stand on grant of statehood for the region.
