Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Saturday accused YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy and honorary president Y S Vijayamma for adopting double standards on the bifurcation of State issue.

Talking to media persons while participating in Congress Prajahita Yatra in Anantapur district, Rajagopal took serious note on Jagan Mohan Reddy and Vijayamma for supporting the Telangana statehood. Though both of them claimed that they would follow former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's path, now they are favouring formation of separate Telangana State to get mileage in the ensuing by-election, he pointed out. “This exposes their double speak on bifurcation of State and opportunistic politics,” he alleged.

Rajagopal said that the Congress party would pass a resolution in the State Assembly against the bifurcation of the State if it emerges victorious in all 18 Assembly constituencies in the ensuing by-elections and send it to the Centre. He said that the Centre would announce a clear decision on keeping the State united after the outcome of by-elections in August.

He expressed confidence that the Congress candidates would win with huge majority in all constituencies.
