AP State Road Transport Corporation's new Managing Director AK Khan on Monday expressed confidence that he would be able to take the corporation from losses by inducting professionalism in the organisation.

Addressing a press conference after assuming charge, AK Khan said that the corporation employs over 1.30 lakh employees and counts among the biggest public sector units in Asia. However, he said the corporation was presently running into losses of nearly Rs 430 crore per annum. He said by inducting professionalism and improve public services, the losses could be converted into profits.

Khan said that the corporation would conduct monthly interactions between the RTC drivers and traffic police personnel to improve the traffic scenario in the city. He said that the RTC drivers could play a major role in regulating the traffic in the twin cities.

Speaking about his experience as the City Police Commissioner, Khan said his tenure of two years and four months had been very successful and learning. He said his experience of dealing with communal riots, law and order situations and traffic would help him a lot in his career.
