Telangana Rashtra Samithi Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao on Friday condemned Speaker Nadendla Manohar’s action of suspending 12 TRS MLAs from the Assembly, who demanded that the government move a resolution on Telangana state in the House.

Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Harish Rao said that the government instead of responding to Telangana MLAs' demand, it forced the Speaker to suspend the TRS MLAs from the House and violated all democratic rights of elected representatives. “Before hanging a person, the jail officials will ask for last wish of a person. But the Speaker suspended the MLAs without giving a chance for them to explain their position,” he said.

Harish also condemned the silence of Congress MLAs and Ministers when the Speaker was suspending the TRS MLAs from the House. He said that the TRS MLAs are asking the government to make its stand clear on Telangana and when it would move a resolution. Warning the government of serious consequences if it failed to move resolution, he said the people of region would teach a fitting lesson to MLAs and Ministers for betraying the interests and aspirations of people.

The TRS leaders accused the TDP Telangana Forum MLAs of match fixing with the Congress for not attending the Question Hour on Friday.

Condemning the Speaker’s "unilateral action", another TRS MLA Pocharam Srinivas described it as `Black Day’ in the history of assembly session. Terming it as unfortunate, he criticized Minister D Sridhar Babu, who hailed from Telangana region, for moving a resolution of suspending TRS MLAs from the House.

He warned the government of serious consequences if it failed to move a resolution in on-going assembly session.
