The activists of CPI and CPI (M) started raising slogans against the State Government in protest against the improper supply of drinking water in the Tirupati constituency. The activists alleged that since Chiranjeevi lives in Hyderabad, he had no idea about the problems being face by the people in his constituency. They also criticised him for visiting the constituency on regular basis.

While the activists were raising slogans, police intervened and took them into custody. They were later shifted to a nearby police station and released later.

Later, Chiranjeevi told the gathering that he was very much aware of the problems being faced by the people in Tirupati. He promised that he would try to resolve the drinking water problem in the next two months. He said he would meet Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking funds for the drinking water project in Tirupati.

Speaking about N Chandrababu Naidu, Chiranjeevi asked the Telugu Desam Party chief to introspect himself before levelling allegations against other leaders. While hailing the Andhra Pradesh High Court order asking the CBI, SEBI and ED to conduct primary investigations into Naidu's alleged illegal assets, he advised Naidu to welcome the probe and cooperate with the investigating agencies.
