Getting a copy of revenue records, income certificates or residence certificate will be easier from Friday.

Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat here on Thursday, Information Technology and Communications Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Thursday announced that the government was planning to set up 'Mee Seva' centres across the State wherein people could get these certificates without any difficulty. However, the centres would be on experimental basis in Chittoor and Krishna districts.

The first "Mee Seva" centre would be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Chittoor district on Friday. Ponnala said that the `Mee Seva’ centre would provide 12 services to customers including providing certificates like Adangal, Records of Rights, Income Certificate for students and Residence Certificate. Each certificate would be issued at a nominal fee of Rs 30.

The Minister said that the "Mee Seva" centres would provide all the government services to the people in easy manner at one place. Based on the response received from the people, he said the `Mee Seva’ would be extended by establishing 300 centres across the state. He said that the government was making efforts to issue all certificates through “Mee Seva” centres by March 31, 2012.

Ponnala hoped that the "Mee Seva" centres would put an end to corruption and the issuing of documents and certificates could be done in a transparent manner. He said the all certificates would be given to candidates within 30 days after conducting proper enquiry. He said that all employees in the “Mee Seva” Centres would be appointed on contract basis by a private firm.

The Minister said that the existing 107 AP On Line, 22 e-seva Centres and 34 Common Service would be christened as “Mee-Seva” centres soon and the government would extend Rs 10,000 to each of the centres for this purpose.
