Director General Of Police V Dinesh Reddy on Tuesday warned the Telangana activists of serious consequences if they try to disrupt the transport network in the state.

Talking to media persons after inspecting Mehdipatnam Bus Depot as part of reviewing security arrangements for bus depots and railway stations in the city, Dinesh Reddy said the Road Transport Corporation has been running 1000 buses with the assistance of police personnel in the city. He expressed confidence that the RTC would operate more services with the help of police.

The DGP warned the agitators of serious action if they disrupt the transport system by calling for Rail Roko agitation as it was linked to the national network. He said stringent action would be initiated against those who try to disrupt train services on October 15-17 Rail Roko agitation.

Stating that probe was going on in connection with removal of fish plates of railway tracks at Srirampur in Adilabad district, the DGP said that severe action would be taken against those found guilty once the report comes out.

Meanwhile, IG (Intelligence) Anuradha warned of serious consequences against those who disturb law and order situation. Stating that police so far, has observed restraint to initiate against those activists, who are causing law and order problem, she said the government has given permission to deal sternly with agitators considering the increase in people’s problems due to the general strike. She said that the law violators would be booked as per relevant sections and dealt with sternly, whoever they may be.

Anuradha also said that protection would be provided to commuters who are travelling in RTC and private buses.
