Lagadapati cancels 'Satyagraha' to allow Jagan's dharna

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Friday cancelled the proposed ‘Satyagraha' on October 1 near the Victoria Museum.

Talking to media persons, Rajagopal said that he had to cancel the Satyagraha as YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy did not change the date or the venue of his ‘maha dharna' scheduled on October 1. He said he cancelled the Satyagraha to avoid untoward incidents on the day.

Earlier, Rajagopal dashed a letter to Jagan asking him to cancel his maha dharna to allow the Gandhi Global Family to organise Vandey Gandheeyam at Victoria Meseum. As part of it, a series of programmes were taken up to create awareness on the event.

The committee planned to organise a ‘Satyagraha' near the Victoria Museum on October 1 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner N Madhusudhan Reddy stated that all necessary arrangements were being taken to avoid untoward incidents.
