"KCR trying to divide Congress"

Alleging that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao was trying to create a rift within the Telangana leaders, the Congress party on Tuesday accused him of adopting British policy of 'Divide and Rule'.

Talking to reporters, Congress MLCs M Rudraraju Padmaraju and M Ranga Reddy said that Kcr has misused Karimnagar's Jana Garjana held on Monday as a platform to divide the Congress leaders of Telangana region. Referring to his speech, Ranga Reddy said that while praising Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar, Kcr criticised the Civil Supplies Minister Sreedhar Babu. Aimed at creating difference between the two leaders, Kcr compared their commitment and services towards Telangana region, which was not warranted, he said.

Ranga Reddy ridiculed Kcr's statement that the Congress leaders did not work for the development of the region. He asked Kcr to prove the development that he has brought into the constituencies from where he got elected. He challenged Kcr for a debate on the development brought by the Congress and TRS in Telangana region.

MLC Rudraraju demanded that essential services must be exempted from the on-going general strike in Telangana region. He said strike by over 69,000 employees of Singareni Collieries would affect both coal and power production in the Telangana region. He said the State's exchequer would suffer a loss of hundreds of crores if the strike continues. Further, he said education sector too must be exempted from the general strike as their participation might spoil their career.
