HC did not ask for counter petition in Jagan's case: Botsa

Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday stated that the State Government did not receive any orders from the AP High Court asking it to file counter petition in connection with the disproportionate assets case of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan after paying floral tributes to former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s on his second death anniversary, Botsa Satyanarayana ruled out reports that appeared in a section of media that the High Court directed the government to file counter petition in Jagan’s case.

“I will withdraw my comments if they show any proof in this connection,” the PCC chief asserted. He also condemned YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy for describing the CBI as Congress Bureau of Investigation. He recalled the same CBI gave clean chit to Jagan in TDP MLA Paritala Ravi’s murder case.

Instead of making efforts to clear YSR name from FIR of CBI and himself, he said that Jagan was tarnishing the image of YSR. He also admitted that he had signed the petition supporting Jaganmohan Reddy candidature for chief minister post along with other MLAs after the demise of YSR.

Responding to a question, he said “I never told anywhere that I won the elections without using former chief minister YSR photo. Along with YSR photo I also carried Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the election campaigns.”

Regarding the construction of YSR memorial park in Pavuralagutta, he said the project was delayed due to unavoidable reasons. “The government will take up the project soon,” he said.

Botsa said that party has decided to organize a massive convention at RK Beech in Visakhapatnam on Oct 18. The convention is aimed to counter the baseless allegations being leveled by TDP and YSR Congress party, he said. K Chiranjeevi will also participate in the convention.

Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, GHMC Mayor Bhandaru Karthika Chandra Reddy, AICC secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar and senior leaders participated in the programme and paid rich tributes to YSR.

At a programme held at Congress Legislature Party Office, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, former minister J C Diwakar Reddy, former minister Gade Venkata Reddy, Legislative Council former Deputy Chairman Mohd Jani, Government Whip Siva Rama Reddy and MLC Rudraraju Padma Raju participated and paid rich floral tributes to YSR.
