Mr Naidu vitriolic attack came before media persons at a function organised to welcome about 300 Bharatiya Janata Party activists from Ranga Reddy into the TDP fold, where he lashed out at the Congress for failing to initiate any steps to check the ‘ill-gotten money’ of the YSR Congress Party president.

The former chief minister said that under corruption thrived under the shadows of Congress, the ‘poisonous tree,’ and the resultant offshoot was the Kadapa MP. “The Nation has seen agitation after agitation against corruption and black money. However, the state remains untouched as the government has failed to initiate action against the ‘corrupt’ YS Jaganmohan Reddy,” Mr Naidu charged.

He further alleged Congress leaders have whisked away black money from the country and opened accounts in Swiss banks. “Corruption in the country can only be eradicated by creating awareness among people,” the TDP chief stated.

“By merging the Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress party, only K Chiranjeevi achieved social justice,” the former chief minister said, in reference to the principles on which the PRP was founded. Describing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as the `most inefficient Chief Minister,’ Mr Naidu challenged him to participate in a discussion on the development of state during the respective tenures of the Congress and TDP parties. The former chief minister also reiterated his party’s commitment to the welfare of farmers. “The TDP will continue its fight for their (farmers’) welfare,” he stated.
