Health Minister Dl Ravindra Reddy came down heavily on his rival candidate in Kadapa district YS Jaganmohan Reddy, heaping up allegations against the latter for resorting to money laundering only for his political gain.

Talking to media persons at the Secretariat on Thursday, Dr Ravindra Reddy said that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s one-point programme was to occupy Chief Minister’s seat and further alleged that the latter had moved earth and heaven in the Kadapa district to achieve his goal. Stating that election victory was based on the voting pattern, the Minister asserted that he contested as per the party’s directive.

In case of victory or defeat in the Parliamentary by-elections, the responsibility was not his but those who backed him, Dr Ravindra Reddy stated.

“I was only a party nominee,” said he.

Further, he said that he had visited New Delhi only to apprise the High Command the events connected to the by-elections in kadapa.

Dr Ravindra Reddy further alleged that YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has announced his 48-hour hunger fast in Guntur district to gain political mileage and not to fight for the farmers’ cause. He added that the hunger fast will not have impact on the government.

Condemning the statements made by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s supporters that the government will crumble once the by-election results are out, Dr Ravindra Reddy said “There is no threat to the state government at present and it will not be under threat after the by-election results.”
