The differences among Telugu Desam Party leaders of Krishna district came to fore on Friday with both district unit president Deveneni Umamaheswara Rao and Vijayawada city unit president Vallabhaneni Vamsi submitting resignations from their posts on Friday, after laying charges and counter charges against each other.

According to sources, Mr Umamaheswara Rao stated that he had resigned as the district unit president after being pained by allegations leveled by city unit president Mr Vallabhaneni Vamsi and Mr Kodali Nani that he had not given proper respect Nandamuri Harikrishna during his recent visit to the district.

Mr Umamamaheswara Rao said that not respecting Mr Harikrishna was unthinkable for him since he had immense respect towards party founder NT Rama Rao and his family members.

Condemning the allegations leveled against him as baseless, Mr Umamamaheswara Rao stated that he has been working by taking strength from members of the NTR family.

Meanwhile Mr Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who had earlier sent his resignation to TDP office through fax on Friday, stated that he was having a rethink on his resignation as the city unit president. He said earlier he planned to resign as the party city president due to arrogant and arbitrary attitude of Mr Umamaheswara Rao, but was rethinking after coming to know about the party’s district unit president’s resignation.

Mr Vamsi said that Mr Umamaheswara Rao was not giving proper respect to members of NTR’s family.

He said that Umamaheswara Rao had not made any arrangements for Mr Harikrishna when he visited the district and also did not give an opportunity for other workers to meet the senior party leader.

Meanwhile Mr Harikrishna has summoned both the leaders to Hyderabad to sort out differences between them.
