Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao on Monday found fault with Telangana leaders for ‘attempting to dictate’ terms to Congress High Command by imposing deadline for introduction of Telangana Bill in Parliament.

Talking to media persons on Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao took serious objection to the demands by party Legislators to Congress president Sonia Gandhi for introduction of Telangana Bill.

Condemning Nalgonda MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud who allegedly ‘threatened’ the High Command by saying that he would resign, Dr Shankar Rao said that these types of pressure tactics are in violation of Congress party rules and regulations. The Minister opined that the High Command may also initiate disciplinary action against Mr Yaskhi Goud.

He asked all Telangana leaders to have confidence in Ms Sonia Gandhi’s leadership and decision making abilities.

When asked if he would accompany the Ministers from Telangana to meet Ms Sonia Gandhi, Dr Shankar Rao that he would be part of the delegation of Ministers whenever they go to New Delhi to meet the AICC president.

He also condemned senior leader G Venkataswamy comments against Ms Sonia Gandhi.
