As the Millennium March would affect the students’ bright career and future, Mr Sridhar Babu appealed to the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to reconsider its decision and postpone the protest.

He said that the state government and the Congress party have been making sincere efforts towards addressing the Telangana problem by mounting pressure on the Centre.

Reacting on the Endowment Minister’s resignation, which he had sent to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday to press for an early decision on the separate statehood demand, Mr Sridhar Babu hinted that he may not follow Mr Jupalli Krishna Rao’s lead and put in his papers.

“I have not made a similar promise,” he said.

Mr Sridhar Babu added that being a Minister would give him more scope to highlight the Telangana issue and bring it to the notice of the party High Command. “As a Minister I would have more accessibility to the High Command,” he stated.
