KTR demands Moily's suspension for 'anti-T' remarks

Condemning the remarks of Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs M Veerappa Moily that a resolution on Telangana was a ‘must’ to take up the issue in Parliament, Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Taraka Rama Rao on Thursday demanded that the Union Law Minister must be sacked from the Cabinet due to his lack of knowledge.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS leader demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh immediately suspend Mr Moily from the Union Cabinet and added that the Union Law Minister’s comments were anti-Telangana.

Describing him as traitor of Telangana, Ktr said the Union Minister comments were `unfortunate’ when the process for Telangana state formation has been speed up at Centre after the submission of Justice Srikrishna Committee Report.

Stating that the Union Minister was not suitable to Law and Justice portfolio due to his lack of knowledge, the TRS MLA demanded that the Centre immediately introduce a Telangana Bill in Parliament and fulfill the aspiration of people.

He asked the Telangana Ministers and MLAs to follow the lead of Congress MPs from the region who had been pushing for a Bill in Parliament.

Ktr further warned the government that his party would stall the Proceedings in the state Assembly until the government introduces a resolution urging the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill in Parliament.

The TRS chief also called upon the police to participate in the noncooperation agitation of Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association and extend their support for the formation of Telangana state. He said the police should take a cue from their counterparts in Medak and participate in the noncooperation agitation.
