Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud on Friday opined that the introduction of a separate Telangana Bill in the Budget Session of Parliament would be delayed as consensus was yet to be arrived at by the eight major political parties of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Goud stated that the crucial second all-party meeting, to discuss the Justice BN Srikrishna Report and its recommendations has not been convened yet.

Speaking to media persons, the MP also opined that though the merger of Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the Congress was still possible, this would be dependent on the creation of a separate Telangana state.

He said that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had himself stated that he was willing to ready to merge his party into the Congress in event of formation of Telangana state.

Reacting on the announcement of a ‘calendar’ of non-cooperation movement by Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, Mr Goud said the Telangana Congress MPs and MLAs would extend total support to the non-cooperation agitation which was aimed to pressurize the Centre to introduce the Telangana Bill in Parliament.

Mr Goud further revealed that MPs and MLAs from Telangana region would be heading to New Delhi on February 14 to mount pressure on Congress Core Committee to introduce T Bill in budget session.

Reacting on the charges made by some members of the business community that `Brand Hyderabad’ was being hit adversely due to the ongoing separate Telangana agitation in the state, Mr Goud said that this was untrue. He stated that the business and industrial growth rate in Telangana would not be hit due to formation of a separate state.
