Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday stated that there was no question of forming separate unit of the party for the Telangana region.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of an emergency meeting, Mr Naidu rubbished the speculations which have been going back and forth in media circles that differences in TDP have arisen and these differences can even split the party vertically.

The former chief minister said that there was no question of a split in the party and stated that the question of a rift too did not arise since the party was a cohesive unit.

Mr Naidu also expressed his displeasure at the parallel meeting which took place at T TDP Forum Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s residence in the day and said that these people cannot dictate terms to the party leadership. He also said that anybody who hatches a conspiracy to split the party will not be spared.

He also said that there will be no separate unit of the party for Telangana region.

Earlier, when Mr Naidu was holding talks with some leaders to discuss the formation of a coordination committee for Telangana, another group held a parallel meeting at the residence of Telangana TDP Forum Convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s house.

In the parallel meeting, Mr Janardhan Reddy reportedly put forth a proposal to form a separate unit of the party for Telangana region as Mr Naidu was keen to include some anti-Telangana leaders in the coordination committee.

However, Mr Naidu persuaded Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Kadiam Srihari, Harishwar Reddy, G Goverdhan, and Uma Madhava Reddy by assuring to look into their demands.

Mr Janardhan Reddy demanded that Mr Naidu that the party should side with the demand for separate Telangana. He also made it clear that the coordination wing was not necessary as their demand was loud and clear for Telangana state.
