PV Narasimha Rao remembered on death anniversary

Prominent Congress leaders including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, former chief minister K Rosaiah, Labour Minister Danam Nagender, Information Technology Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari, Praja Rajyam president K Chiranjeevi and others paid rich floral tributes to the former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao to mark his death anniversary at PVN Ghat at Necklace Road on Thursday.

After paying tributes to the departed leader, the leaders recalled the services of the former prime minister to the nation and state.

They observed silence while religious leaders from led all-religion prayers for peace to the departed soul.

Talking to media persons later, Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi recalled Pv Narasimha Rao services to financial sector.

“The economic and financial reform introduced by the PVN has enabled the country to compete with developed countries in the world,” Mr Chiranjeevi said.

He also recalled PVN’s services to the state as chief minister and for eradicating Zamindari system in the state and introduction of land reforms. The PRP chief called upon people, particularly the youth to follow the ideals and principles of PVN to come up in life.

The Telugus gained a lot of pride and self-respect during the tenure of PVN, he pointed out.
