At least 42 persons were injured, four of them grievously, in two separate accidents in the state on Thursday.

The first accident occurred when an auto-trolley overturned at Kamareddypalli in Parkala mandal in the district on Thursday, leaving 16 passengers injured.

According to police, the mishap occurred when the trolley auto driver, ferrying TRS supporters to the venue of the Maha Garjana in Warangal, lost control on the vehicle while giving way to another vehicle, and toppled over.

All the injured have been shifted to Mahatma Gandhi General Hospital. Among the injured, the condition of four is stated to be critical.

All the remaining commuters were discharged from the hospital after being given first aid.

In another mishap 26 passengers of an RTC bus were injured when the rear wheels of the bus came off at Kanuma in Chilamattur in Anantapur district on Thursday.

According to police, the bus driver lost control over the bus after the two rear wheels came out. He was forced to veer into an adjoining field, ploughing it.

Police have shifted the injured passengers to Government Hospital in Anantapur.

The condition of injured is stated to be out of danger. The injured have been identified as students studying in a local college.
