After the announcement by former Kadapa MP Ys Jaganmohan Reddy that he would launch a new party within 45 days, former Congress minister Damodar Reddy on Tuesday said the new regional party would not have much impact on the Congress, which was a national party.
Talking to media persons at the CLP Office, the former minister stated that he sees no threat to the government by the formation of another regional party.
Welcoming Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s decision, Mr Damodar Reddy said “every individual has the freedom to form his own parties and or join any association. No one can raise objections over this”.
The former minister also promise cooperation and support from Telangana leaders if Mr Jaganmohan Reddy extends support in favour of formation of separate Telangana state.
“There are a lot of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy fans in Telangana region. They will support his party because of his welfare works”, he said.
When asked about the publishing of a series of articles maligning Congress party president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi on the television channel owned by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the former minister said that the former MP has never uttered a single harsh comment against Ms Sonia Gandhi in any part of the state.
