“It is sad, but we have no objections since anyone can form his own party in a democracy,” stated Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas when asked to comment on the news that former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy statement that he would his own party within 45 days.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Mr Srinivas said that there was no objection from High Command.
The PCC chief expressed unhappiness over Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s decision, but added that the new party would not have much impact on the national party.
“In a democracy people have right to form their own parties and no one can object. There is no need to comment on it (the proposed party) as it is at incipient stage only,” he said
The PCC chief said the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would address the District Congress Committee presidents and party office bearers on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan, the first time after assuming charge.
Mr Srinivas also stated that the PCC would extend full cooperation to the government in the policy matters. “There are no differences between PCC and the Chief Minister,” he stated.
Reacting on the Guntur MP Rayapati Sambhasiva Rao remarks that he was unable to redress the people’s problems since he had no help from the government, Mr Srinivas took serious exception for his comments and termed them as unwarranted.
The senior Congress leader should not have made such comments and there were not suitable to his position, the PCC chief said. On former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s statements that he would work against Chief Minister, he said there was no need to discuss such small issues.
The allotment of portfolios and other political issues would be resolved soon with the intervention of High Command, he hoped.
Reacting on PCC posts, he said that the High Command would issue a notification in this connection very soon.
