TDP seeks probe into 2G scam, to organize national convention

Reiterating that both Centre and State Governments are involved in rampant corruption, Telugu Desam Party Telangana Forum convener Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday stated that the TDP would organize a convention with national leaders in Hyderabad before December 31 to fight against 2G spectrum scam.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, the senior leader said the TDP would intensify agitation against corruption across the nation and seek the support of like-minded parties in this regard.

Mr Janardhan Reddy stated that the TDP would mount pressure on Centre demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into allotment of 2G spectrum licences, in which Rs 1.76 lakh crore are believed to have been misappropriated.

He demanded probe into allegations leveled against welfare schemes being launched by former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his family.

Shifting his focus, Mr Janardhan Reddy also criticized the government indifferent attitude in addressing the farmers’ problems. He stated that if the government fails to procure paddy and cotton from the farmers by giving minimum support price, the TDP would resort to laying siege the state and national highways.

Reacting on the latest political situation in the wake of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy resigning from the Lok Sabha and the Congress party, Mr Janardhan Reddy stated that the TDP would wait and watch the developments and react at an appropriate time.

On the speculation that the Deputy Chief Minister’s post will be given to Telangana leader Damodar Rajanarasimha, he said it is nothing to do with Telangana agitation. “We will continue our agitation till Telangana state is carved out from Andhra Pradesh” he vowed.
