When asked if the resignation would have any impact on state politics, especially at the time when Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is due to name the members of his Cabinet on Wednesday, Mr Hanumantha Rao stated that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s move will have no bearing on the situation.

The Rajya Sabha Member also expressed optimism that there would be no exodus from the Congress party. He said, "nobody will go, barring a few loyalists."

Mr Hanumantha Rao, who is also the All India Congress Committee's SC/ST Cell convenor, added that those who follow Mr Jaganmohan Reddy will return to the party later. "Maybe three or four leaders will resign and follow him. That also I doubt. They will return to Congress," he stated.
