Why is Sakshi re-telecasting the same controversy?

Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Tirupurana Venkataratnam on Monday condemned the airing of programme against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi for the second time on Sakshi television channel on Monday. The channel had earlier telecast the programme and had asked the viewers to judge for themselves if the points it raised against the Congress party were really as detrimental as alleged by the Congress.

Talking to media persons at Media Point on the Assembly premises, Ms Venkataratnam said the programme was an attempt to spoil the image of the party across the country. She questioned the need for airing such a programme on the channel the second time.

Ms Venkataratnam hazarded a guess that the edited version of programme was intentionally aired to provoke Congress leaders and in order to get mileage in the name of journalism. “It is shameful to air such programmes degrading the Congress party, which has celebrated its 125th anniversary of glorious history.” she said. Ms Venkataratnam stated that the programme has disturbed the emotions and sentiments of thousands of people attached to Congress party. She warned the management of channel of serious consequences if it repeats such programmes.
