Reacting strongly on the comments aired by Sakshi Television Channel against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Congress Working Committee member and Rajya Sabha MP K Kesava Rao on Sunday hinted that the High Command would initiate strong disciplinary action against Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

Talking to media persons, Mr Kesava Rao said the programme aired by the channel was aimed to damage the reputation of Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi across the country.

According to programme, both Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi were losing their charisma and control over the Congress.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Information and Public relations Minister Geetha Reddy on Sunday also condemned the hour-long special story broadcast by 24 hours Telugu news channel Sakshi, purportedly against the Congress party.

Ms Indra Reddy stated that all Ministers in Cabinet are very proud to work under the leadership of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

She added that the adverse story has hurt the feelings of people and Congress party activists.

The Home Minister also said that former minister later YS Rajasekhara Reddy had, till his last breath, worked hard to strengthen Sonia Gandhi’s hands.

Minister for Information and Public Relations Geetha Reddy also condemned the programme through an official statement. Ms Geetha Reddy is presently on a visit to Putaparthi in Anantapur district.

Ms Geeta Reddy demanded that Sakshi apologise for broadcasting the story.

Condemning the foul campaign against party, KK said that the move by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy is nothing but an attempt to degrade politics. He added that the Kadapa MP has resorted to the malicious campaign in order to grab Chief Minister’s Post.

The senior leader prophesized that no one in the Congress party would align with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy if he forms a separate party in the state.

The party would not suffer any major loss in the event of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy parting ways with the Congress, he said.
