Six buses belonging to the Apsrtc were damaged when angry students resorted to stone pelting after police tried to stop their rally on Thursday.The students of Osmania University had taken out the massive rally from the Campus to Tarnaka, demanding the cancellation of examinations for recruitments to the Sub-Inspectors posts across the state until the deletion of Clause 14(F) from the Presidential Orders.

Raising slogans against the government, the students proceeded towards Tarnaka, and staged rasta roko, disrupting the traffic. The police however stepped in and attempted to disperse the rallyists. This however, led to heated arguments being witnessed between the police and the students.

The students resorted to stone pelting and damaged the six Apsrtc buses. The students also vent their fury by pelting stones at a shopping complex and Aaradhana theatre. Sensing trouble, the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse them. In the police lathicharge two students –Raju and Madhav sustained injuries. There were shifted to hospital.

The police have mobilized additional forces to maintain law and order in the University and nearby areas. Meanwhile, police have imposed prohibitory orders in the city from Friday for a week to maintain law and order. Organizing any kind of public meetings and processions in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad without obtaining prior permission has been prohibited till November 25 from Friday, Police Commissioner A K Khan said.
