Municipal Administration Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, accompanied by Panchayat Raj Minister Botsa Satayanarayana, hailed the statement and support of Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K Chandrasekhar Rao for Congress party.

Speaking to media persons at the state Secretariat on Friday, the Ministers said that the Congress was a national party and that it was strong enough but "we still welcome his support."

Referring to the Srikrishna Committee's report, the Minister said that it was the prerogative of the party High Command and Congress president Sonia Gandhi's decision was final on the issue.

Reacting to the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu criticising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Ms Sonia Gandhi, Mr Ramnarayan Reddy stated that Mr Naidu was craving for publicity and yearned to get back on the front pages of the newspapers.

The TDP chief’s idea was to be at the centre state stage by attacking the national leaders so that the press took priority of his comments in the publications, but he forgot his stature and resorted to criticise the Prime Minister and Ms Sonia Gandhi, the Ministers stated.

They also wondered where Mr Naidu stands vis-a-vis the Prime Minister. The Ministers also ridiculed the former chief minister’s often repeated statement that he was offered the prime minister's post, which he turned down.
