PM Modi speaks in Telugu to woo Telangana voters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a bold move, delivered some of his most impactful criticisms of BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in Telugu on Sunday.

Addressing the crowd in Toopran, Gajwel, where Rao is contesting, and in Nirmal constituency, Modi's Telugu remarks were strategically crafted to invigorate party cadres. Departing from his usual "naa kutumba sabhyulaara (members of my family)" phrase, Modi seamlessly switched to Telugu, proclaiming, "Modati saari Telanganalo BJP prabhutvam erpatu kaanundi (for the first time, BJP government will be formed in Telangana)."

Modi posed three pointed questions to Rao in Telugu, emphasizing issues that resonated with the audience. "Prajalaku kalavani mukhya mantri manaku avasarama? Sachivalanyaniki 10 samsavatsaralu raani mukhya mantri kavala? Farmhouse ku parimitamaina mukhya mantri kavala (Do we need a Chief Minister who never meets people? Do we want a CM who did not go to the Secretariat in 10 years? Do we want a CM who restricts himself to his farmhouse?)."

Utilizing Telugu phrases to drive his message home, Modi proclaimed, "Congress, KCR iddarito jagrattaga undandi, BJP maatrame Telangana pratishta penchutundi (Beware of both Congress and KCR; Only BJP will increase Telangana’s prestige)." He further asserted, "Samajika nyaayam BJP thoney sadhyam (social justice will be possible only with the BJP)," and assured the audience, "Modi gari guarantee antey purti aye guarantee (Modi’s guarantee means a guarantee that will be fulfilled)." Modi also engaged with the public on the issue of fuel prices, asking, "Petrol, diesel dharalu taggala vadda? (Should petrol, diesel prices be reduced or not?)."

This strategic use of the Telugu language by Modi not only connected with the local audience but also underscored the BJP's commitment to addressing pertinent issues in Telangana, setting the stage for a dynamic political discourse.
