No Telugu speech even after Naatu Naatu won the Oscars

The entire nation erupted with joy when Naatu Naatu song from RRR won the prestigious Oscars in the best song category. Thus Naatu Naatu song became the first Indian and first Asian song to win Oscars in this category.

All the Telugu movie lovers and Telugu people across the world waited eagerly for music director Keeravani and lyricist Chandra Bose's speech after receiving the award at the Oscars. While Chandra Bose just said Namaste after receiving the Oscars, Keeravani came with a parody of popular singer Carpenter's song singing praises of Rajamouli and then thanking his son Kaala Bhairava to happen and termed it as the pride of every Indian.

Telugu-speaking people though rejoiced the moment are disappointed that Keeravani and Chandrabose did not speak in Telugu.  This once again proved that Telugu people prefer to speak in any other language except in their mother tongue. This is unlike Mozart of Madras, AR. Rahman won two Oscars and then spoke in his mother tongue Tamil. At that time after thanking all the cast and crew of Slum Dog Millionnaire, he said in Tamil ": Ella puhazhum iraivanukke." which translates into “All perfect praise belongs to God alone.”

The moment he said  Ella puhazhum iraivanukke." the entire national and international media searched for the meaning of this Tamil phrase in their languages. All Tamil Tambis expressed their happiness and pride at Rahman speaking in his mother tongue and making everyone know about the Tamil language.

Many Telugu people feel that it is a lost opportunity though the entire Naatu Naatu song is full of Telugu words. Had either Keeravani or Chandrabose spoken in Telugu, it would have been a pure delight. Even NTR and Ram Charan in all their interactions spoke only in English. This is in stark contrast to PM Modi who always speaks in his mother tongue Hindi. This doesn't mean that he is weak in English but he is propagating his mother tongue before switching to the English language. The RRR team too should have done the same.
