What's Behind

Ravi Babu attained recognition with his different genre entertainers. Ravi Babu who failed with his horror films Adugo and Aviri decided to change his genre. Of late he has been coming with adult comedy flicks and his latest film Crrush captured the imagination of all with red hot and unique, over-the-top bold promotions. The adult comedy is streaming on Zee5 and let's see what it has in store for movie lovers.

Story Review

Three childhood friends Ravi (Abhay Simha), Vamsi (Krishna Burugula), and Teju (Charan Sai) dream of migrating to the US and pursue their graduation there. They come to know that girls in US do not care a hoot for men and so they decide to lose their virginity so that they are not caught in an embarrassing situation when they meet them in the US.

This results in various twists and turns in their lives and where this leads to forms the crux of Crush.

Artists, Technicians Review

None of the actors did justice to their roles. Krishna Boorugula, Abhay Simha Reddy, Pari Pandey, Sri Sudha Reddy, and others failed to get their basics rights. They couldn't express themselves properly and dialogue delivery lacked the required modulation. They completely failed in their comic timing. One of the female leads Ankita Manoj attracted her red hot looks. However, she got limited scope for performance. Another heroine Pari Pandey is just ok.

Ram Ravipalli who played the role of one guy's father tested the patience of the viewers with his dialogues teaching sex to his son. Sudha Reddy's scene as a divorced lady irritated all. The other cast with their performance turned the entire story and narration into a laughing stock.

Many expected a lot when Ravi Babu decided to team with Satyanand (co-writer). But he failed completely and along with Nivas came with dialogues that failed to make any impact. They tried to recreate the magic of Allari but failed miserably in their attempts. Ravi Babu failed with his story, screenplay, and dialogues in big time. He came with an amateurish story and the weak screenplay and direction did not help matters at all.

The technical team compounded the problems. Vaidhhy's background music failed to elevate the hilarious scenes. Songs are below average and they slowed the pace of the narration. N.Sudhakar Reddy with his cinematography failed to make an impact on the viewers. Editing left a lot to be desired and that cannot be faulted as had the editing been perfect, there wouldn't have been any story.

Rating Analysis

Ravi Babu who impressed with Nachavule and Nuvvila, however in his quest to attract youth concentrated on adult comedy capers. However, despite tasting failures in this genre, he is coming with similar films. Crrush had no story and concentrated on taking advantage of the inner feelings by promoting the film in a bold manner with bold content. But with a weak story and even weaker narration, Crrush crashed in no time. Ravi Babu concentrated only on B grade, rotten adult jokes in the name of romance, and showing men ogling at beautiful women. He just objectified women in the name of romance and the boasting of Ravi Babu about Crrush creating a sexual awakening turned out to be a myth. None of the scenes and dialogues even they are double meaning failed to make an impact. All the comedy scenes, be it, shemale comedy, bathroom comedy, underwear comedy, gay comedy turned out to be outdated. It is surprising that young filmmakers in Tollywood are failing to update themselves in the wake of the digital revolution. This is sending a bad signal to people across the world. Considering all these points, CJ goes with a 1.5 rating for Crrush.

Punchline: Crrush turns out to be a big crap.
