Anand Deverakonda is making all efforts to cement his position as an actor with a quirky choice of roles. The periodic romance Dorasaani proved to be an unconventional debut for the actor while his direct-to-OTT release Middle Class Melodies surprised one and all with its rooted setting and lifelike humour. His next release is Pushpaka Vimanam while he is also simultaneously working on Hylife Entertainment’s untitled production. Earlier in the day, the actor’s star-brother Vijay Deverakonda launched a song from Pushpaka Vimanam titled Silakaa.

Composed, co-written and sung by Ram Miriyala, the treatment of the song largely reminds of the number from Dev D, Emotional Attyachar. However, that’s not to undermine the quality of the enjoyable song that’s a witty take on a woman who’s turned her back on a guy in a relationship. Ram Miriyala and Anand Gurram’s lyrics are catchy and easy on the ears.

The song registers an impression that the protagonist in the film is a timid, introverted guy who hasn’t had much success in his love life. Ram Miriyala has tasted a lot of popularity through his song Chitti in Jathi Ratnalu and his work for the band Chow Raasta. The raw talent has it in him to go the distance in the industry provided the right opportunities knock his door. All’s well that starts well – enjoy Silakaa from Pushpaka Vimanam at your leisure.
