2.0 Rocks There, Biggest Opener

Director Shankar's ambitious film 2.0 featuring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson took a good opening at the box office and has grossed over Rs 100 crore worldwide on its opening day.

Although 2.0 witnessed drop on day two in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states, the mega-budget film's collection at the international box office is going steady and might see an increase during the weekend.

2.0 rocks in Malaysia with all time No.1 Day 1 opening for a Tamil Movie. On its opening day, the film minted MYR 2,730,000 [Rs 4.56 Crs/ US$ 655K].

Friday reported hourly gross in USA is $591k from 285 locations (10 pm EST) and total gross is $1.6 million. In UK, 2.0 failed to beat Sarkar’s day one record of  £129k. The film raked £122k (all languages).

In Chennai, the collection has almost doubled on the second day of release. It has grossed Rs 4.77 crore in the city while it minted Rs 2.37 crore on day one.
