Will This Bring Back His Lost Glory?

Almost after more than two decades, the magical combination of Akkineni Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma is back. There is no doubt that this pair created a trend of sorts with movies like Shiva, Antham and Govinda Govinda. Though Antham and Govinda Govinda were commercial duds at box office, they were still liked by many and remained as cult classics.

From the past decade, there are no notable hits for Ram Gopal Varma. As a matter of fact, he has completely lost the midas touch after Satya and has nothing to rave about since then. He went on to the extent of making porn movies in internet. At this juncture, one could easily term Nag’s decision as gutsy for working with his friend Ram Gopal Varma.

The movie is currently shooting in Mumbai at Essay Theme World Park. Heavy duty action episodes are reportedly being picturized and some interesting stills are coming out. One such still is the uber cool look of Nag with a child who seems astonished. This reminds one of the Shiva scene where Nag is chased in a bicycle with a child.

Nag fans are hoping that this movie is will bring back the midas touch of Ram Gopal Varma. The movie is tentatively titled Shapadham and the shooting in Mumbai is expected to take place until March 10. Nag is portraying the role of a police officer and Myra Sareen is making her debut as lead heroine.
