Basavaraju Venkata Padmanabha Rao known to every Telugu cine lover as Padmanabham has passed away today in the morning hours at his residence in Chennai. As per the information from available sources, this all time great comedian was going through his regular morning schedule, was attacked by a heart stroke when he was reading the news paper and was spot dead.
Padmanabham aged 79 years has acted in 100’s of movies and had the privilege of sharing the screen space with legendary NTR and ANR. His last appearances in Telugu films were Bhadra, Chakram and Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila. His first movie was ‘Mayalokam’ and characters like Dingiri in ‘Pathalabhairavi,’ Tenali Raamanna in ‘Kathanayika Molla’ made his position a prominent one in Tollywood.
Padmanabham has even produced five movies and directed hit movies like ‘Sri Rama Katha’ in 1969 and ‘Kathanayika Molla’ in 1970. Cinejosh wishes this legendary comedian’s soul to rest in peace.
