Theatre, TV artiste and model Vaquuar Shaikkh was initially reluctant to work in Mitti as he was shooting for two Telugu films. However, he heard the narration of his character and script and decided that the cult film will change the face of Punjabi cinema.”Interacting with newsmen during the promo of Mitti, which was  released on Friday, the actor throws light on his character. “Lalli Brar from an affluent family roams around with politicians, organising rallies for them,” says Vaquuar adding the film is about the rapid colonisation of farmland, and how the youngsters brave the politicians and fight graft to save their land.

Mitti comes in as an experiment after a deluge of NRI subjects into Punjabi films, he says while participating along with the film’s singer Mika. When a TV channel journalist asked Mika about his strained relation with item girl Rakhi Sawant, Mika got furious and misbehaved with him and used abusive language against the scribe. The offended reporter filed a police complaint against Mika.Rakhi and Mika are at loggerheads for quite some time after Rakhi complained to police that Mika forcibly kissed her at his birthday bash.
