Taj Mahal, one of the India’s finest monuments became the first historical place in world to have a foot on Twitter. Yes, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched an official Twitter account on the name of Taj Mahal today on Independence Day. The official Twitter handle of @TajMahal is allotted to the account soon after its launch in Lucknow. Though Taj Mahal is situated in Agra, Archeological Survey of India could not grant the permission for conducting this celebration at the Mughal monument.

Within hours after Taj Mahal entering into social networking, thousands of followers started to trend the hash tag of #MyTajMemory. Good numbers of Taj Mahal pictures are posted on the page. ‘There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who have visited me and follow me here and those who haven't seen me and yet follow me here,’ the Taj Mahal Twitter account reads.

The Taj Mahal called as Crown of Palaces is a white marble mausoleum commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. During 1600s, this complex is believed to have been constructed at a cost of Rs.32 Million which in 2015 values Rs.52.8 Billion. Taj Mahal has always been the eternal symbol of love attracting tourists from across the globe.
