No loss to Tollywood, if Telangana formed

Andhra Pradesh and Tollywood is credited with highest number of movies produced per year in the whole world and Cinema is one of the biggest industries in Andhra Pradesh’s entertainment business. According to Suresh Babu, head of Suresh Production, a large chunk of the state’s revenue from this line of business comes from coastal Andhra and Rayalseema; the regions which will comprise the new Andhra Pradesh if Telangana comes into being. 
 
Suresh Babu also said that. “Out of the total theatrical business in the state today, 42% comes from coastal Andhra Pradesh while 20% is accounted for by Rayalseema. A quarter comes from Hyderabad while the rest nearly 13% comes from the districts of Telangana,” he said. Interestingly in Andhra Pradesh, barring key city like Hyderabad, none have many multiplexes. Even a large city like Visakhapatnam does not have a single multiplex.

Suresh Babu rightly said, “Business for the entertainment industry depends on the audience. We make films for the Telugu people and it does not matter where they are.”
