Sekhar Kammula Did Not Like Cheating

The script of ‘Kahaani’ movie starring Vidya Balan has immensely won the praises in both general audience and critic circles. Now, the same is being remade in Telugu and Tamil as a bi-lingual with Nayanathara doing the lead character. Difference in script is Vidya Balan played a pregnant lady throughout the movie only to end up cheating the audience revealing that she isn’t carrying in climax.

‘Vidya is a pregnant lady and there was lot of suspense in ‘Kahaani.’ This brilliant script had a cheating element because audiences watch the film trusting the woman as pregnant. In the end, she breaks our trust. I do not want to cheat my audience with something that is not true. So, I’ve rewritten certain portions and climax sequences of ‘Anamika’ to make it more realistic. Basic line and narration will remain the same,’ Sekhar explained. This shows the very soft side of Sekhar who does not even want his audience to get cheated with intelligence in screenplay.
