Telangana Director in Oscar Committee

We do not mean to say N Shankar as a director belonging to alone Telangana region alone but his film ‘Jai Bolo Telangana’ is taken as a reference to name him as Telangana Director. The talented personality who is popular in screening the films for Awards Nominations is appointed by Film Federation to become a part of 16 member jury of Oscar Screening Committee. This committee will scrutinize many Indian films to select one to represent as India’s official entry for Oscar 2013 in Best Foreign Film category.

Others in the panel belong to producers, artists and technicians community from all over the country. They are to meet in Hyderabad on September 17 to view all the films before finalizing one nomination. ‘I feel privileged to have this responsibility. I am looking forward to watching the best movies made in the country in last year,’ N Shankar said. There are ‘Mithunam’ and ‘Jagadguru Adi Sankara’ from Telugu language competing for the Oscar nomination.
