Shyam Benegal Receives ANR Award

Eminent director Shyam Benegal received ANR National Award on 9th February, 2013.  He was presented the award by the Chief Minister Mr.N.Kiran Kumar Reddy at N-Convention Center at Hitex. Many industry bigwigs such as ANR, D.Rama Naidu, Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and others graced the occasion. ANR expressed his happiness for presenting the award to the great director like Shyam Benegal. 

Shyam Benegal was earlier honoured with Padma Bhushan by the government of India. He also received Dada Saheb Falke Award in the year 2005. He created a new genre with his movies like 'Ankur', 'NIshant', 'Manthan' etc. Earlier, ANR award was received by Dev Anand, Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanthimala,  Lata Mangeshkar, K.Balachandar and Hema Malini.
