Yash Chooses Audience Verdict Over Blame In Toxic Failure

Yash’s Toxic arrived with enormous expectations after the actor’s blockbuster KGF franchise, but the Geetu Mohandas directed film received a mixed response and struggled to sustain its theatrical momentum. The setback reportedly hit hard because Yash was closely involved as a producer and co-writer, making the project a deeply personal endeavour.

Toxic featured Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. Despite its strong cast, ambitious scale and huge pre-release buzz, negative word of mouth affected its box-office run. Reports indicate the film opened strongly before witnessing a sharp decline, ultimately falling short of the expectations surrounding its release.

Dubbing supervisor and actor Jaidev Mohan has now revealed Yash’s reaction after the film’s release. Speaking about their phone conversations, Jaidev said Yash advised him not to worry excessively and suggested leaving the outcome to audiences. According to him, Yash sounded composed, although the disappointment was clearly audible in his voice.

Jaidev also stressed that Toxic evolved over several years, with its story changing through different stages of development. He argued that filmmakers must respect the audience’s verdict rather than claim viewers failed to understand their work. Yash’s reported attitude reflects a willingness to accept the result, learn from it and concentrate on what comes next.
