The teaser for Drishyam 3 dropped on Wednesday and fans cannot stop talking about it. Mohanlal is back as Georgekutty, and the film will release in theatres on May 21, 2026, which also marks the superstar’s 66th birthday. The one minute and 50 second teaser hints at another gripping story from the franchise. The teaser raises curiosity and brought back memories of the first two films.
The teaser starts by reminding us of how the first two films ended. It then moves to the present where Georgekutty is seen inside a church, praying and looking back at his life. He talks about growing up without a family and how he did everything to protect the one he built. The visuals suggest that he now has to deal with a new enemy and a fresh problem. The serious tone in Mohanlal’s eyes indicates this part will be more emotional and intense than before.
Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, and Siddique are all returning for this film. Jeethu Joseph is directing again and Antony Perumbavoor is producing under Aashirvad Cinemas. After the theatre run, Drishyam 3 will stream on Prime Video. That news has made OTT audiences happy too, because the first two parts did huge numbers on streaming.
The Drishyam series began with Georgekutty, a simple cable operator, who saved his family when IG Geetha Prabhakar’s son went missing. Drishyam 2 took the story forward and showed the long shadow of that night. Now the third film is set to open a new chapter in Georgekutty’s life. With the birthday release plan, expectations are sky high.
